Baguio City

If you are planning for a vacation but don't have enough time because of certain circumstances Baguio City is one of the best place to consider. Yes, you read it right Baguio City, the Summer Capital of the Philippines.

It is actually convenient to go there, buses going to Baguio are available in Cubao, Caloocan and Pasay terminals. Same thing as from Baguio bound to Cubao, Caloocan and Pasay. The terminal in Baguio is located near the SM City Baguio, you can walk from there going to the terminal. The bus going from Manila to Baguio and vice versa leaves every 1 hour for Php 450.00 - Php 550.00 with the travel time of 5-6 hours during the night trip and 6-7 hours during the day.

But I decided to go there via Pangasinan to visit the Manaoag Church. I leave in Cubao terminal bound to Manaoag at 1:00 am for only Php 385.00 and luckily I am already in Pangasinan at exactly 5:00 am. The bus going to Manaoag will drop you near the church so no worries in finding it.

The Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag in Pangasinan.
If you are kinda religious people this place is one of the best place to visit to pray for a Catholic people but if not a picture in this place will do. Many people go here to pray for they believe that Our lady of Manaoag is the patron of the sick, helpless and needy.

When I arrived at Manaog I only ate my breakfast to one of the fastfood chain near the church and after that there is a van terminal at the side of the church. The fare costs for only Php 90.00 and it is a 1 hour trip. Again don't worry for some place to visit because the terminal of the van in Baguio will drop off you in the Burnham Park which is the very famous park in the city.

Burnham Park in Baguio City
This place is the best for kids to play, couples who wants time for theirselves and for family who wants bonding, but for me travelling alone, this is place to walk, see the beauty of nature and appreciate the work of God. The park has no entrance fee so you can enjoy the place and stay here whatever time you want to.

There is also different kinds of boat that can be rented for Php 150.00 - Php 200.00 depending on the design of the ride that you want. The price of the boat rented is good for 1 hour but can be extended if no there is no customer will use it next to you.

Near the Wright Park just a few steps away, you can find the place where the President of the Philippines stays when he is in the city, The Mansion.

I ate my lunch at SM City Baguio, the mall that don't uses air because the weather in the place is cold enough. I left the Baguio at 4:00 pm and came to Manila at 10:00 pm. I guess the whole day in Baguio is possible though I wasn't able to visit some of the tourist attraction there but I think it is already good for person who wants to have a break for a day. :)

Baguio City is famous because of it's weather that is unusual compare to other places in the Philippines. It is more cold here. The City is also famous because of it's festival which is called the Panagbenga Festival or the Flower Festival where different floats are parade in the road with different themes but materialized by flowers.
